'Your Prescription for Health'
Wellbeing Maintenance & Detox Program
Heavy metal and environmental pollutant detoxification
The program is the culmination of nearly two decades of dedicated pioneering efforts in improving the health of people affected by dental mercury and other toxins such as dental infection and poor dietary and lifestyle choices.
We bring a multi-discipline approach to achieve an optimal outcome for our patients.
To optimise your outcome we combine the expertise of our Biological Dentists, a Wholistic Health Practitioners and our hygienist. One on one consultations with a Wholistic Health Consultant will explore your current health status, identify possible problem areas and plan a complete health program for you.
Steps to success
When we begin your care we emphasise the following factors:
First, that your body's ability to handle contaminant materials such as mercury from fillings, toxins produced by bacterial infections - a dead tooth; gum disease - can be enhanced by an individually tailored diet. Nutrition is the foundation of your body's ability to regenerate itself from the effects of toxicity.
Second, that your treatment can be further enhanced by specific supplementation and chelation.
Third, that your dental appointments should be planned with appropriate consideration for your immune system and medical status.
Fourthly, that your replacement dental materials should be selected with consideration for testing aimed at determining which materials are likely to be compatible with your specific needs.
*The key here, however is that all of these steps must be taken PRIOR to the actual sequential removal of fillings.
IMPORTANT NOTE - The most important guidelines for 'mercury - toxic' patients is that they must NOT rush out and have their amalgams removed without prior total health assessment and preparation. Improperly performed or omitted procedures will compromise your outcome.
Defining and quantifying the probability of dental toxicity
When symptoms and the various laboratory findings begin to coincide it becomes possible to define and quantify the probability of mercury toxicity. This kind of analysis must be performed carefully by well trained personnel.
Some people can have a single imbalance and be immobilised, while others may have ten imbalances and just have chronic fatigue as a result. The effects of mercury and other dental toxins will vary from one person to another on the basis of genetic make up, the environment in which they live and additional contributions which have been made by exposure to other toxic materials such as lead, arsenic and cadmium.
It should be kept in mind that if the diagnosis of dental toxicity was a simple matter, the subject in all likelihood, would have been more thoroughly documented years ago. Many of the examinations and testing procedures used and developed have become available only in the past five years or so. Because of the continuing research efforts, active intervention and participation in the field of dental materials and clinical investigations, it is expected that many new and important testing and treatment methods will yet be added to our programme in the future.
Improperly performed or omitted procedures may permanently alter chemistries. Consequently, recovery from dental toxicity is like trying to make a strike in bowling. The bowler only gets one chance to make his strike and the patient may only have one opportunity to properly deal with his health problem.
Each avenue of treatment for the dental toxic patient is essential in itself. But in addition, the timing and integration of each step into the treatment plan is also significant.
An example of this is the observation that supplementation and dietary and lifestyle changes started two to seven days prior to Total Dental Revision appears to be far more effective than supplementation simultaneous with or after revision.
Your initial visit with wholistic health consultant or dentist to discuss your particular needs and health concerns. This can be done as a phone consultation if need be.
Collection of information
- Personal medical history of family
- Comprehensive health and lifestyle questionnaire
- Full blood chemistry profile and/or electrodermal screening (ORION)
- OPG and xray
of jaw and bones, TMJ's and teeth for complete diagnosis of dental conditions.
The Program looks at the fundamental defects, such as toxicity from dental materials and chronic infection, the sub clinical conditions that underlie periodontal disease and tooth decay and all other oral health problems, as well as chronic degenerative disease and every uncontrolled infection. Eg: Well established link between periodontal disease and heart disease and diabetes. From this we produce a 120 page individualised detailed report.
By working with the Program you not only experience the joy of restoring the health to your gums and teeth but the joy of knowing that in the process you have reduced your risk to all the major diseases that commonly affect people.
When you are in the dental surgery, your dentist will go over your full medical history and do a complete dental evaluation and charting. Your x-ray will also be reviewed and any areas of concern will be discussed with you.
This will identify sources of toxic reactions. Not only mercury - amalgam fillings - but also root canals, abscessed teeth and improperly healed extractions (called cavitations) may affect your health and must be carefully examined.
After seeing your dentist, you will see the nutrition councillor where further testing may be carried out.
Health Coach Consultation
The Wholistic Health Consultant will explain your blood chemistries, diet and detox Program and answer all your questions and organise any required supplements or special tools for your detox.
Treatments and protocols
At all your treatment appointments when amalgam is being removed, all safety protocols are put in full use, including the negative ion air filters, alternative air supply during removal, rubber dam, sterile water and IVC drips if required. Correct amalgam removal procedure.
When your treatment is complete, you'll be sent questionaries and reassessed at one month, three months and at six months. You will be requested to have repeat tests. This helps us keep track of your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your recovery.
Once you have achieved excellent oral health, it is prudent to maintain it. Based on your specific situation, we will schedule appointments to check your progress and perform minor maintenance as needed. Everybody is on a unique maintenance schedule. Our world class hygienist will help you to maintain your teeth and gums in excellent health, using your mouth as a mirror to the health of the rest of your body.
